At Island Music Works
you can add joy and the love of music to your life through the
piano.
Six or seven years of
age is a great time to start but you can never be too old to
learn. I have many adult students and my eldest was 80!
You’ll see that the love of music and creating it touches all
ages. Before long you’ll be reading music and adding music to
your life.
I started out taking
lessons as a child. Music became the love of my life and I
continued to study music throughout my life. In high school I
accompanied the church choir and ever since then I’ve always
been involved with youth and adult choirs, singing, playing or
directing; accompanying services on the organ and piano; leading
hand bell choirs; and serving as music director.
Teaching music was the
perfect opportunity for me and I have thoroughly loved it for
the past 20 years.
Weekly private lessons
are given at my studio (Coupeville) and are usually thirty minutes. All
materials and books are available for purchase at the first
lesson. I prefer the Alfred Piano Program; however if someone
already is using another program, we can make use of those
materials.
Island Music Works also
provides an excellent opportunity for schools or youth centers
to offer piano lessons to their students. Privately or in
groups, I can create a program that works for them. Our
programs also work well for home school programs for families or
groups.
